Will the United States adopt Bitcoin as a strategic asset?

Bitcoin (Bitcoin-dollar) — along with other crypto assets — had a massive year, as the cryptocurrency soared after the 2024 election and reached over $100,000 for the first time. Two Prime founder and CEO Alexander Blum joins Sina Smith and Madison Mills on Catalysts to share several of his 2025 predictions for the cryptocurrency space.

Bloom expects the United States to declare bitcoin a strategic reserve asset, either through absorbing confiscated bitcoin or through bipartisan legislation that could prompt the U.S. Treasury to purchase up to 1 million more bitcoins.

“I think there may be political will to actually approve this bill as well,” Bloom says. “It is also important that not only will the United States do this, it will set the tone for other countries to follow suit, just as other countries have amassed gold in the past.
