Vitalik wants to make Etherum “as simple as Bitcoin” in 5 years

Etherum co-founder Vitalik Baterin called for the simplification of the Ethereum base protocol, aimed to make the network more efficient, safe and available, drawing inspiration from the minimalistic design of Bitcoin.
Blog mail Under the name “Simplification L1”, 3. Maja, Baterin exhibited the vision to restructure Etherum architecture in consensus, executive and common components.
“This post will describe how from 5 years can come closer as simple as Bitcoin,” Baterin wrote, claiming that simplicity is key to Etherum’s resilience and long-term scalability.
While recent upgrades like Proof stake (POS) And the zero-in-law-in-interactive knowledge argument (ZK-SNARK) made a robust Etherm, said the technical complexity has led to inflated development cycles, higher costs and higher risks of errors:
“Historical, Etherum often didn’t do this (sometimes because of my decisions), and this contributed to the higher of our excessive development costs, all kinds of security risk, and in pursuit of performing and developing, often looking for benefits that often proved illusory.”

Etherum Eyes “Final 3-Ground” to simplify consensus
One key focus area is an Etherum layer of consensus. The central in this effort is the proposed model “3-slot finality”, which eliminates complex components such as Epoch, the synchronization board and a validator.
“Reduced number of active validators simultaneously means it becomes safer to use simpler implementation of fork choices,” Baterin wrote.
Other proposed improvements include enabling more leveling rules of choosing forklifts and adopting scalable transparent arguments protocols protocols (STARK) for decentralization and simplification of network coordination.
On the layer of execution, Baterin proposed to switch from Etherum Virtual Machine (EVM) to a simpler, Virtual ZK machine like a Risc-v. This move could offer 100K performance improvements for evidence of zero knowledge and significantly simplifies the protocol.
RISC-V is an open source instruction architecture (ISA) used in designing computer processors. It follows the minimalist philosophy of design, using a small set of simple instructions for high efficiency and easier implementation.
To save the compatibility backwards, Baterin has proposed launching the inheritance of the EVM contract via RISC translators while supporting both VMS at the same time during the transition phase.

Baterin calls for standards throughout the protocol
Baterin also advocated standardization throughout the protocol. It has proposed to adopt a unique method to delete, format for deletion, serialization format (Favorites of the SSZ) and a tree structure to reduce excess complexity and simplified ethereum tools and infrastructure eating.
“Simplicity is similar in many ways to decentralize,” Baterin wrote. He suggested that Etherum would adopt the goal “Max. Line-Code” similar to what Tinirad makes, keeping consensus critical logic as much as possible and revidid.
Uncritical legacy would remain only outside the core specification.
Baterin’s proposal aimed at simplifying Ethereum comes, because the network still loses market share in competitive blocks.
During the discussion panel on length by cointelegraph events 2. Maja, Alex Svanevik, General Data Director Nansen said Etherum was a relative Dominance among L1 block network has declined.
“If you asked me 3-4 years, would Ethere dominate the crypt, I’d say yes,” Svanevik said during the discussion panel on the length of cointelegraph. “But now it’s clear that it’s not happening.”
