Ritchie Torres suggests Billa to ban Meme Coins using Likene politicians

Ritchie Torres is preparing to introduce new legislation that would ban the creation and sale of meme coins and stablecoins that take advantage of American political figures.

Draft Law, called “Stop Presidential Profitor for the act of digital property”, aims to cut what Torres calls a growing trend of “digital funding” using the identity of public officials of high public officials.

According to the draft summary of the text, Bill would make it unlawful that any person creates, promoting or selling a digital means, if the image of the “covered individual” if that results in a direct or indirect financial gain for that person or covered official.

The definition of a “covered individual” includes the president, vice president, members of the Congress, federal officials appointed or affirmed by Senate and their immediate family members.
