Injective (INJ) and SVM Sonic are teaming up to offer the Smart Agent Hub, enabling cross-chain AI applications and cryptocurrency connectivity between Solana and Injective.

Developers will soon have the opportunity to deploy Solana-based AI agent applications on the Injective (INJ) blockchain, thanks to a new crosschain initiative. Blockchain Layer-1 protocol Injective, in partnership with Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) blockchain Sonic, is set to launch Smart Agent Hub, a platform designed to integrate AI agents into the decentralized Injective ecosystem, according to Injective blog.

The axis begins with Solana

Smart Agent Hub is expected to debut its testnet in Q1 2025, with full integration occurring in phases. This hub will allow developers to deploy Solana-based AI agent applications using remote procedure call. The initiative leverages Sonic’s infrastructure and Inter-Blockchain communication protocol to facilitate a direct connection between the Injective WebAssembly blockchain and Solana. Additionally, a bridge will be created to transfer SOL and Solana-based tokens, along with encapsulated and native tokens.

The collaboration comes shortly after Injective unveiled its iAgent software development kit, which embeds OpenAI technology into AI agents to analyze data, predict trends and execute trade. Injective’s announcement emphasized the vision of a multi-VM future, enabling developers to build agents using different VMs.

AI agents are gaining traction

The growth potential for AI agents is huge, as Injective explains. The sector currently has a market cap of $11.2 billion, with Fetch.ai and Virtuals Protocol accounting for more than half of that value. This contrasts with the market cap of $145 billion in DeFi and $208 billion in stablecoins.

Other industry players are also exploring opportunities for AI agents. Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase introduced its AI-based proxy builder in October. Meanwhile, Near Protocol’s Near Intents feature, which is currently in beta, facilitates trading across multiple native cryptocurrencies and interacts with any blockchain or wallet using smart contracts and on-chain signatures. Story Protocol has developed a framework for AI agents to trade specific intellectual property rights at scale.

About injections

Injective is a high-speed, interoperable, layer-1 blockchain optimized for building leading Web3 finance applications. It provides developers with a set of powerful modules for creating decentralized applications (dApps). INJ, the original asset, operates the Injective ecosystem, which is rapidly expanding with support from prominent investors such as Jump Crypto, Pantera, and Mark Cuban. Blockchain was initially incubated by Binance.
