Drift announces Season 2 airdrop in May 2025

Drift, the Solana-based cross-chain trading platform, plans to offer Season 2 airdrops in May 2025.

Drift Team revealed the upcoming FUEL airdrop via a file Share on XThis comes on the back of many notable achievements for the platform in 2024. Drift Fired Its original code is DRIFT (Drifting) in May while FUEL is a rewards program announced in the Drift Protocol in July 2024.

The program marks the second season airdrop of DRIFT and will benefit all users across the decentralized exchange platform. Drift says FUEL will help align incentives as well as drive growth for the protocol.

Drift has seen significant traction among real-world asset integrations, with Ondo support a notable development.

The platform also added stablecoins USDe, PayPal USD, Sky’s USDS and introduced a liquid staking system. Drift Earn has also benefited from vaults, with structured products designed for trading and return strategies bringing millions of dollars in total value locked into the protocol.

Cryptocurrency airdrops were a hot trend again in 2024, with some of the largest token distributions seeing early adopters receiving huge distributions.

Over the past year, three of the best airdrops have come from Hyperliquid, Starknet, and Pudgy Penguins. The open network click-to-earn game Notcoin and the Solana DEX Jupiter protocol also dominated the market with their respective airdrops.
