An illegal mining farm has been discovered in the orphanage house

March 14, 2025 – (Moscow) Russian prosecutors revealed the discovery of an illegal mining process hidden inside the Siberian orphanage, which confirms the increase in the spread of unauthorized mining activities in the region.
According to an official statement issued by the IRKUTSK Oblast Office, the law enforcement officers seized 96 mining platforms from the facility in the village of Kazakhi, inside the Bukhangsky area of Irkutsk. According to the mining farm was operated by a non-profit organization that unveiled its name, which created equipment in the orphan-building of three floors currently closed but is still registered as an educational facility.
Irkutsk court ordered the separation of equipment and an end to what he described as “land use”. Public prosecutors claim that operators are exposing to public safety by violating fire and safety regulations. The facility lacks fire warnings and preventive maintenance of its electrical systems, which increases the risks.
Legal procedures against the head of the organization that is not profitable for multiple charges, including violations of energy use regulations, improper construction, operation of energy -consuming equipment, and fire safety laws.
Irkutsk, which has long been considered the largest mining center in Bitcoin in Russia, has seen an increase in unauthorized mining activities. The region attracts both legal and illegal operators due to low electricity and cold winter costs, which greatly reduces cooling expenses for mining equipment.
Howver, the Strain on the Power Grid Caeed by these Operations has prosted Local autocrats to consider stricter mesures. During the winter months, encryption mining is banned across a large part of IRKUTSK Oblast, including the Bokhansky area, yet the enforcement appears to have achieved limited success. Reports indicate that illegal miners are increasingly turning their operations into private housing, commercial buildings and even gardening associations.
Irkutsk ruler called for a year -out embargo on encryption mining in the region until 2031 to reduce tension on energy infrastructure. Energy experts have warned against creating many unauthorized mining settings in unaccounted locations to deal with high electric loads required for such operations.
Illegal encryption mining is not limited to Irkutsk. In the settlement near Marcova, the authorities recently revealed a mining farm with 150 connected platforms through unauthorized cables. Likewise, Tyumen Oblast officials, east of the Ural Mountains, are preparing measures to reduce the high mining of “gray” cryptocurrencies.
At a modern meeting led by Deputy Governor Pavel Bardalov, regional officials, utilities and law enforcement agencies pledged to develop implemented proposals by April 1 to address this issue.
