Bitcoin mining faces uncertainty, as definitions threaten supply chains

Bitcoin Mining Sector in the United States is preparing for possible challenges after President Donald Trump announced a new tariff, scheduled for April 5.

This policy imposes at least 10 % on all imports, raising concerns between mining companies that depend greatly on international supply chains.

In addition to the general import tariff, countries such as Thailand and Malaysia, which play an important role in the supply chain of Bitcoin mining devices, are to face more severe duties. From April 9, the customs tariffs on imports from Thailand will increase to 36 %, while those from Malaysia will increase to 24 %.

Although many prominent Bitcoin mining operations in the United States, most of its equipment arises from Asia. One of the largest manufacturers of devices, points, based in Beijing, maintains production facilities in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

In response to the sudden tariff announcement, Luxor Technology, a US -based Bitcoin Mining Program and Services Company, quickly modified logistical services. Lin, who runs the devices in Luxor, said that the company quickly shipped 5600 mining machines from Thailand to the United States within a narrow window for 48 hours to avoid increasing costs.

The sudden change in import duties has pushed mining companies to review their operational strategies. The rise in basic equipment expenses can affect the Bitcoin network fragmentation, which ultimately affects the profitability of mining within the United States

With the high trade tensions, the long -term effects on the infrastructure to extract bitcoin and the security chain are unexpected, leaving the companies on the edge of the abyss while moving in the new scene.
