Andromeda Metals is strengthening its Board of Directors with the appointment of Jean-Dominique Sorel, Chief Mining Executive
Andromeda Metals Ltd (ASX:ADN, OTC:ANDMF) The company has strengthened its Board of Directors by appointing highly experienced mining and metals sector executive Jean-Dominique (JD) Sorel as a non-executive director of the company.
Sorrell has more than 45 years of corporate leadership, operations, trading and marketing experience, and extensive experience in the global metals and industrial metals markets.
Traxi’s involvement
He was previously Chief Operating Officer at Traxys Sarl, an organization he led, developed and helped grow over 16 years.
Among his other accomplishments, he developed significant base metals and industrial minerals activities for Traxys.
Andromeda recently signed a binding offtake agreement with Traxys to purchase Great White CRM™ and Great White HRM™ for up to 50% of total production from the company’s Great White Project (GWP) in South Australia.
An invaluable addition
Andromeda CEO Sue-Anne Higgins said: “The company warmly welcomes Jean-Dominique to the Board of Directors. His extensive experience in global industrial metals markets will be an invaluable addition to the Board of Directors.

Highly experienced
Sorel, who lives in Luxembourg, is currently a director of Traxys Europe SA and was previously a director of Traxys UK Ltd and Société Luxembourgeoise de Commerce International SA.
In addition, he was the legal representative of Traxys for the group companies in China and Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Traxys, Sorel also held the following executive positions:
- Chairman of Metaleurop SA, heads the company and manages its commercial activities including the purchase of lead and zinc concentrates and sales of zinc, lead and silver);
- Usinor Group (now ArcelorMittal), where he ran the ferroalloy and non-ferrous metals purchasing desk; and
- CFO of Amax, Europe SA, which included monitoring nickel ore properties in New Caledonia and selling Mount Newman iron ore in Europe and the Middle East.
Sorrell graduated from Columbia University (New York) with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration.
Perrin to step down
As a result of this appointment, Austin Perrin has elected to step down from the Board at the end of January 2025, to ensure an orderly transition and maintain a Board size appropriate to the company’s size and location.
