Many traders were watching Bitcoin (BTC) price action during the European hours on Friday, scratching their heads, and with good reason.
If you look at the candlestick chart for the BTCUSD pair on Coinbase, you will see fourteen green candles per hour, which means that in the past 14 hours, Bitcoin has been making gains every hour.
The hourly candles come as BTC price rises from $91,771 to $95,283. The trend started on January 9 at 21:00 UTC and continued on its way until 10:00 UTC on January 10.
He left the unusual price chart tRides on X puzzled.
Vettel Lundsenior analyst at K33 Research, compiled data points on when this last happened. This is currently the longest hourly green candle line since at least January 1, 2017, when it reached 11.
But this is not the first time we have seen green double-digit hourly candles recently. Bitcoin charts showed similar patterns on January 14, 2023 (11), February 26, 2024 (11), and November 12, 2024 (11) as well.
The 15th candle on the hourly frame is currently red, likely to end this trend and is scheduled to expire at 12:00 UTC.
