BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETFs posted record outflows in a single day

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (Ebit) saw its largest single-day net outflow on Thursday, as investors pulled out a staggering $332.6 million, according to data from Farside Investors.
IBIT is the largest Bitcoin ETF, with net assets of approximately $54 billion. This record-breaking outflow follows A Strong performance in 2024when IBIT collected over $37 billion in inflows and helped push Bitcoin to a higher level. The all-time high is above $108,000 in December.
Thursday was the third straight day of IBIT outflows, bringing the week’s total to nearly $393 million.
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas doesn’t necessarily see this activity as a bearish sign. “It will be two steps [forward] And one step back, and lately it’s been like 6 steps [forward] Long overdue imo,” Balchunas posted on X.
Other Bitcoin ETFs saw minor inflows on the first day of trading in 2025; However, these inflows were nowhere near what would be necessary to offset IBIT’s outflows.
For example, IBIT’s competitors, such as Bitwise’s BITB and Fidelity’s FBTC, reported inflows of $48 million and $36 million, respectively. Ethereum ETFs also performed poorly overall, recording combined outflows of $77.5 million, according to Farside Investors.
The price of Bitcoin is currently around $98,000. Some analysts see cryptocurrency assets rising to… All-time highs of $180,000 or higher in 2025with potential nation-state adoption a key indicator to watch this year.
