Robert J. “Bob” Andrews | News, sports, jobs

Bob was born May 7, 1938, in Pennsdale, the son of John “Jack” and Eileen (Dolong) Andrews. He later graduated from Hancock High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963. He served as a Hancock Police Officer for a short time before working for many years at the Hancock A&P store until it closed. He then worked at Goodwin Motors and at Brunos’s Motors as a handyman and was also in charge of National Car Rentals at the Houghton County Airport for a number of years. In his spare time, he helped others who needed help around their homes, including clearing their driveways of snow in the winter. He was able to easily make friends with many of the people he met.

On May 7, 1965, they married Margie Seppala at St. Joseph’s Church in Hancock. He was a loving husband and father.

Bob was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock. He repairs and sells used lawn mowers and snowblowers. He was a proud member of the Ripley Fire Department for many years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved animals, especially cats and dogs.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant son, Stephen in 1966, and his son, Robert in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Margie, his brother, Charles Andrews of Hancock, and several nieces and nephews. And nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock in the spring with Father Corey Litzner officiating, along with tributes from the Copper Country Veterans Association and the Ripley Fire Department.
