SSR Mining has achieved a milestone in Moz production at its Marigold mine
SSR Mining Inc. announced that its Marigold mine, in Nevada, USA, achieved 5 million ounces of gold production on December 30, 2024.
Marigold has been operating continuously for more than 35 years and has produced more than 2 million ounces of gold since its acquisition by SSR Mining in 2014, including a record 278,000 ounces of gold production in 2023.
Marigold is a large mine pile leaching operation with numerous open pits, waste rock stockpiles, filtration pads, a carbon absorption facility, a carbon processing facility and a gold refining facility. The gold bullion produced at the mine is shipped to a third-party refinery.
“We are very proud of the Marigold team for achieving this important milestone,” said Ruud Antal, CEO of SSR Mining. The production of 5 Moz Gold over 35 years of continuous operations is a testament to the quality of the Marigold mine and its team. It should be noted that Marigold still hosts approximately 3 million in mineral reserves as of December 31, 2023, supporting a mine life of at least nine years.
“In 2024, we have targeted approximately $10 million in growth expenses at Marigold as we continue to meaningfully invest in mine life extension opportunities at the mine, including the Buffalo Valley Project.
“We look forward to many more years of safe, responsible and successful operations at Marigold going forward.”
