Recording VitalIl Torrent, Cripto’s most widespread star

Vitalik Baterin, Original Creditle Blocchain, is one of the most famous data in the cryptocurnancy industry. It is often divorced in ecosystem for highly technical, at the same time and deeply philosophical in terms of the role of technology in society. For those who do not follow the crypto, Baterin Starko opposed the stereotypical picture of a glowing cryptocurrent billionaire with its minimalism in its personal style, as well as his geeks and clumsy manners.
Documentary “Vitalik: Etherum Story” Which is set for the global release of 15. April, trying to follow our early life and childhood in Russia, followed by immigration with family in Toronto, Canada, where his love for computers and technology began in his middle school years.
In the core of the award life was the creation of Ethers, which followed its early involvement in Toront’s Bitcoin community, where he saw the potential of property in providing some financial freedom. While thinking he could apply these concepts to other aspects of life, Baterin was placed to write writing in creating a block version of the Internet.
Toronto has strong connections for early days Ethereum. It was home to some of The first Etherum Developer Hackathons and Meetings were organized by Etherum Canadian co-founder in the city.
This year, CONDESCOD CONSENDSUS 2025. Year, it takes place in Toronto 14. to 16. May, emphasizing the Canadian vivid community of the CRIPTO.
The film goes through various phases of century Ethereum, including the start of the network, Procwat Blocke, the importance of merging in reducing Etherum energy consumption and Baterin’s urge to help Ukraine in their war.
COINDESK sat down with documentary film producers, Chris Temple and Zach, to hear about their prospects about the creation of the film, in front of its global release.
This interview is arranged for brevity and clarity.
COINDESK: Why did you want to create a documentary about Ethereum?
Zach Uramrasci (ZI): Well, Chris and I used to make documentaries for 15 years. We make documentary films on character. So I really love those human stories that give us an insight into the emotions and motivation of people in really interesting places.
We are not crypto experts. We both studied the economy, so we have little understanding of finance. But when we met Vitalic 2021. I think he immediately clicked something in our brain like: “Oh, here’s a story that somehow spoils stereotypes that is the main audience in this area.”
Fast after we met Vitalic, we did NFT Croundfund for the movie in Mirror.XIZ, LjudiPleSer did NFT. We basically placed this full of film budget and we have allowed us to create this independent story and access to follow Vitalik worldwide, as it lives from a 40-liter towel
How did you decide which parts of the history of Ethereum to include in Vitaličke’s story? One noticeable moment I thought is interesting that you were omitted didn’t involve Hack 2016? Why turn off that key moment in Etherum history, but leave in other moments?
Zi: This is the challenge of making these movies. We had a very broad mandate, following the community, not just focused on Vitalik. And then after two years of recording, we realized that the kind of narrative structure would only make sense if you managed to follow one person, and then you will fill the community through his eyes.
Hack gave very confusing to explain, so it is an important element only what is important in its essence. And I think you know, a moment that Vitalik decides whether Etherum Foundation would be non-profit in relation to profit is a very understandable concept for the main audience. They understand.
As mentioned, the premiere premiered a few months ago, and it was only available to people on the chain. If the film is intended for the main audience, why first decide to release the chain, instead of a streaming platform in which more of these people can access?
Zi: It’s a practical answer. The documentary industry is broken, so it has an independent film premiere on the main platform, even nothing means unless you have real marketing. And so on the freedom on the chain, NFT, a trailer to release dawn, the sponsorship of the building for this main edition is critical.
Chris Temple (CT): People like the film and gathered behind him and they were interested and shared with moms, such as: “Hey, that’s what I do for a living.”
This is not just our film, this film belongs to the community. And I think that empowering people in that first step and using technology that the movie was all right.
How did you convince Vitalik to take a movie? He is not very sensitive to the media so you would force him to agree to do it?
Zi: I think we have really happiness in a way. This was before he was on The front of the magazine. I think he was motivated to talk about what he believed that the future of Ethereum should look and how to build it, and people should focus on building things that have real world value.
So I think we just met in the perfect moment when he and people around him wanted to have access to a wider audience.
Ultimately I mean, that’s what makes us the perfect participant in the film, because his reluctance is in that reflection, that true authenticity. You can say on the movie not trying to extend the spotlight. It is something that is uncomfortable and something that took a long journey to even find where his voice is and how it should be.
CT: It was a very challenging production, more than any movie we’ve ever made, because Vitalik Nomadic, he is around the world, and he says, “I will be in Montenegro … if you want to come.” We need to try to purify and all we have there just to get those moments there, even if it’s just a few hours with vitalism.
Recently, a pile of leadership in the EF, and Vitalik was in the core of making a decision on these changes. The film shows how uncomfortable Vitalik can enter this leadership role and must make basic decisions such as EF should be non-profit non-profit against a profit organization and departure against some co-founder.
Given all the key decisions that had to make in the last few months and key leader in Ethereum, what do you think it went through his mind, and did he become more comfortable in his leadership role?
Zi: I really can’t talk about Vitalyvac, but I think that’s why this movie was never more relevant. Because if we are looking for insight into how Vitalik thinks and what cares, I think the thing he was most worried was that Ethers would be useful in the world.
There is an important quotation of the film about the film “If Etherem is used only for speculation, it is a huge missed opportunity.” So, it is not surprising that Vitalik did not go to the White House (to meet with President Trum). Vitalik takes care of how this tool will be used in the long run for real, positive changes in the world. It’s embarrassed with the conflict, we know that, we see that in the film. So I can’t imagine that it is a simple procedure for him.
But you definitely can say that it began to understand how to use his voice in this ecosystem and uses his soft strength.

What did Ukraine record during the beginning of the Russian invasion? And why does Vitalik feel so connected to this cause?
Zi: We have little recording experience at the borders of war zones. Fortunately, at that time Kiev was relatively safe.
It was really a vitalyza idea, she always wanted to support hackers there. Vitalic just felt like he could support them, and that’s something that takes so deeply for two reasons: 1) He actually has Ukrainian origin and 2) coming from Russia, I think he complains to complain with Putin.
Then only one of the first specific examples of real positive influence in the world, how much crypt used when the banking system was in chaos, and so quickly received money on fronts.
There is a deleted scene where Chess plays with Fedor’s, Deputy Prime Minister Ukraine. But you know, Fedorov spoke about how 1,000 people of their military were saved because $ 100 million was collected in Cripto quickly mobilized.
What do you hope that the audience is taken away from this movie?
CT: Documentary films are bad in the information, but they are great in provoking issues and get emotions. If we can inspire the audience to be smaller and consider critical technology, not only in these extremes everything bad or everything is good, but to understand a little spectrum along the middle there and look at both positive and negative consequences of technology.
I think that kind of techno optimism is the core about what this is about this film. Helping anyone to apply these lessons, whether it is within the crypt, within aa, because technology will only continue to switch and affect our lives.
The film is about Vitalia as a person, but also a little about the history of Ethereum. So Vitalik = Etherum?
Zi: I don’t think so, and I think it was hoping at this point. I hope that in the movie will come across and that’s why we called him an Etherum Story, because I think it’s one of the many said. I think it’s where Vitalik was successful because she wasn’t Etherum.
