Vancouver, British Columbia – (Newsfile Corp. – December 19, 2024) – Sixty North Gold Mining Ltd. (CSE: SXTY) (FSE: 2F40) (OTC Pink: SXNTF) (“a company” or ““Sixty went north”)
Sixty North Gold Mining Ltd. plans to… To test drill a number of targets at its wholly-owned Mon Gold Property starting this winter.
Digging the first target – Gold Mine Monday
Zone DD is a newly discovered vein system 2 m wide adjacent to the previously productive zone A. The DD zone has been encountered during mining activities but is not well understood. A short six-hole surface drilling program is planned to test the area up dip and along the 17-metre-deep underground exposure zone containing 37.5 GB of gold from the slurry sample collected during mining, and chip samples ranging from 0 to 62.6 GB. Bytes of gold. Across 30 cm. This will provide the information needed to develop lifting and stopping areas in the vein.
Second drill target – VMS
This drilling program will focus on four separate volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) targets at the top of a thick mafic volcanic sequence where volcanism gives way to felsic, intermediate and pelite felsic rocks. The smallest and weakest geophysical target coincides with a mixed belitic and felsic to intermediate volcanic horizon containing narrow massive to sub-massive sulphide intervals including 45 cm of 203 Ga As, 1.0 Ga As, 0.56% Pb, and 0.0% Pb. 96% zinc, high cobalt and antimony. A high-resolution magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical study (VTEMplus©) has traced these horizons to overlying areas where host units are up to 180 m wide. Up to five strong to very strong conductors are independently designed with lengths ranging from 45 to 180 meters and thicknesses from 16 to 36 metres. Three targets had associated but offset magnetic anomalies.
“It is important to continue developing the Mon Gold mine, and to add more mineralization, we can begin mining immediately,” said Dr. Webb, President and CEO of the company. “The DD zone is a new discovery within our existing mine that needs to be refined to allow for better development plans.”
“The VMS targets are very exciting and well defined. The Hackett River VMS deposit, within the Yellowknife supracructal shale, is among the largest in the world with nearly 100 million tons of reserves and resources grading better than 136 gigabytes of silver, More than 4.46% of zinc with significant amounts of copper, lead and gold (Ragsdale, R., 2013) It is reported as a historical figure, is not in compliance with NI 43-101 and should not be relied upon. The Sunrise Lake deposit, 100 km to the east, is another silver-rich deposit with historically indicated resources of 1.52 million tons at 5.99% zinc, 2.39% lead, 0.08% copper, 262 g/t Ag, and 0.67 g/t gold. (Macmillan, E. J. et al., 2020) It is reported as a historical figure, is not in compliance with NI 43-101 and should not be relied upon. “We expect our targets to be similar in size and grade to other known deposits.”
